How to Draw a Top View Roof Plan

HOW TO Draw A HIP & VALLEY ROOF

This is a guide on how to draw a hip and valley roof in 2D plan view. Roofs can become quite circuitous just hopefully the different ways I evidence you how to approach the roof blueprint may be helpful.
All measurements shown are in mm (millimeters)
I recommend reading each example to ensure yous accept read all the data offered as the same information is not repeated in each instance.

Instance ane

Case 2

Example 3

	To get-go drawing in the hipped roof, draw lines at 45 degree angles from all the points on the roof as shown in blue.
	At present we can draw in the ridge lines every bit shown.
	In this step, I have drawn in some dashed lines. The 45 caste angle lines stand for the hips. The other 2 lines (the horizontal and vertical line) are there to brand an imaginary box. Case 4
	As yous tin run across, this is a flooring program layout of a firm based on the previous instance layout, but with an extra pieces taken out.
	This time we are going to approach the roof blueprint a little differently. I have created a series of coloured rectangles. Imagine each rectangle every bit its ain seperate roof. This is how nosotros are going to work out the roof, in pieces, that we will then join together.
	Here I take started creating hip roofs from 4 of the coloured rectangles.
	Now lets tackle the biggest rectangle, the greenish one. In this step I have added the hips and besides valleys. In the next step, we will merge the roof lines together. Some parts that are shown now that intersect wil demand to exist erased to form the proper roof line.
	In this step, the dashed grey lines are to exist erased. The blue lines are the connecting pieces to merge the different roofs together.
